What memory foam changes
Memory foam is known for contouring under heat and pressure. That can help distribute pressure and dampen motion, but denser foam can also feel less responsive and may retain more heat than airier constructions. Layer thickness, density, cover design and ventilation all change the result.
Cooling is a system, not one fabric
Look at the whole mattress. Coil cores generally allow more air movement than solid foam cores, while thick contouring foam can reduce airflow around the body. Breathable covers, perforations and phase-change or conductive materials may help, but room temperature, bedding and how deeply you sink also matter.
